evening concert featured nationally and internationally acclaimed
John Gorka, described by Rolling Stone Magazine as "the preeminent
male singer-songwriter of what has been dubbed 'the New Folk Movement.'"
Opening act featured vibrant folk ensemble, The Wonderhills (Bloomington,
IN).
Most other activities were free during the festival weekend: hourly
concerts, grand opening sing-along, folk dance tent, extensive Children's
program - including an "Instrument Petting Zoo," children's parade,
Saturday drum circle (open to all), informal and "scheduled" jams,
Store Tent, and more!
45 music workshops were running continuously over the two days covering
a multitude of instruments and topics. Also available beginners workshops
with loaner instruments. The festival is produced by the Columbus
Folk Music Society in partnership with the Metro Parks and co-sponsored
