This, on a Friday, on the eve of the 4th of July, proved to be one heck of a concert. It was compellingly melodic. The music, with easy to follow lyrics, was extremely pleasing to the ear. Twangy and catchy. This was the 5th “Great Waters” concert of 2015 and we have been privileged to some fine music — but the guitar play by these two maestros, longtime friends, took the cake. I was very glad to be there to experience it and also have the chance to talk to these two extremely charming — and hugely talented — gentleman. I sometimes feel so lucky. And I found out, while chatting with Cliff Eberhardt that we had all lucked out. This is NOT a duo. They just get together for a week, in the Summer, and do joint concerts. And this was that week. So, in essence, we got two gifted musicians, each a solo artist in their own right, performing together. And it was good. They both have a tremendous sense of humor.

It was not a large crowd, the looming 4th probably having something to do with it. But most in the crowd knew these two and their music. That was good. They were both new to me BUT they now have a follower. It was a great way for us to kick off this long weekend. What a thrill. Thank YOU John. Thank YOU Cliff.
